Coronavirus Update 2022-04-23: We continue to monitor the global COVID-19 crisis and to respond to guidance and imperatives from Queen's University and local and provincial public health authorities.
We are excited to reopen our kitchen on May 1st 2022, and welcome back field courses to QUBS. Please contact us if you wish to have a workshop or retreat at the Queen's University Biological Station (QUBS), or if you wish to pursue research on QUBS land base. Research and accommodation applications are found here. We can answer any questions you may have.
We would like to assure all users and staff of QUBS that we are taking every possible precaution to minimize transmission of COVID-19 and trying to best support researchers, students and staff for the 2022 field season. Conditions continue to evolve and we are responding as quickly as we can, and in a way that prioritizes our staff, researchers, and public health in all decision making. We have limited accommodations on site in 2022, to provide as much physical distancing as possible. Please connect with station staff, to confirm current conditions and policies. Masking is one of the easiest ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19. With this in mind, we will continue with masking indoors in all common indoor spaces at QUBS.
We also ask that you use the self-assessment tool from the Ontario Ministry of Health to determine if you have COVID-19 symptoms prior to arrival to QUBS and at any time you have been in contact with a COVID-19 case or experience symptoms of COVID-19. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19 please connect with station staff immediately by phone or email, and remain isolated. Isolation protocols will be followed as applicable.
Should you have questions regarding activities at QUBS please contact our Senior Manager Sonia Nobrega, Operations Managers of our two campuses, Aaron Zolderdo (Opinicon) and Adam Morcom (Elbow Lake), or QUBS Director Stephen Lougheed.
