This CBC “Just Asking” conversation with Saroja Coelho on Rethinking Road Salt breaks down how millions of tonnes of salt keep our roads safe while quietly salting our lakes, rivers, groundwater, and even our infrastructure. It also explores alternative ways to de-ice winter roads without flooding our ecosystems with chloride.
